Acreage Mowing and
Paddock Slashing
Programmed land management for SEQ farms, acreage and lifestyle properties. Commercial-grade equipment, ecological awareness and consistent scheduling so your property is always under proper control.
Acreage mowing and slashing done well starts with understanding what you're working with. What height to slash a paddock for pasture recovery. Which areas support wildlife and deserve a lighter touch. Whether the grass in front of you is productive pasture or a declared weed that needs treatment, not cutting.
Cambium brings that ecological knowledge to every property we manage. We schedule visits, understand how each property works as a landscape and manage vegetation in a way that serves the land's long-term condition.
Acreage mowing and slashing services, SEQ
Regular slashing of paddocks at the right height and time to maintain productive pasture, control weed species before seed set and keep grazing areas safe for livestock.
Consistent, precise mowing of large lawn areas, rural homesteads and property grounds to a high presentation standard. Programmed visits timed to growth rates and seasonal conditions.
Firebreak establishment and maintenance to Queensland fire management standards. Scheduled ahead of fire season and maintained at the required width and vegetation height through the year.
Our Avant 745 articulated loader handles slopes, swales and uneven ground that tractors and ride-on mowers cannot safely manage. No leaving steep banks uncut because the equipment isn't capable.
Properties that have been unmanaged for a season or several years. We assess the full scope, plan the reset systematically and work through the property in stages until it's back to a manageable standard.
Vegetation managed along fence lines and property boundaries to protect fencing infrastructure, maintain sight lines and keep encroaching species from establishing along boundary corridors.
Built for SEQ's varied terrain
Most acreage properties in SEQ have at least one area that standard equipment can't handle. A steep bank, a wet drainage line, a heavily overgrown section from a wet season. We run a commercial fleet specifically chosen for the range of conditions we encounter across farms, lifestyle blocks and conservation properties.
Articulated loader that handles steep slopes, dense vegetation and uneven terrain. The anchor machine in our acreage fleet.
Precision finishing for formal lawn areas, property surrounds and large turf sections requiring a clean, consistent presentation.
High-capacity paddock slashing for larger open areas, pastures and rural holdings requiring efficient coverage of significant acreage.
For larger clearing, stump removal and earthworks associated with significant vegetation management projects.
From site assessment to scheduled program
We walk your full property. We understand the terrain, access points, existing vegetation, any weed issues and what you want the property to look like. We identify which equipment suits each zone.
We develop a maintenance program that covers every zone of your property at the right frequency. Formal areas, paddocks, steep banks and fence lines each managed on the schedule that suits their growth rate and your goals.
Initial visit establishes the baseline. Overgrown sections are brought back to a manageable standard. Ongoing visits from this point maintain the property rather than constantly catching up.
Regular visits delivered on the agreed schedule. Before and after photos after each visit. Anything outside normal scope flagged to you as it comes up. No surprises, consistent results.
We slash with an understanding of what's growing
A contractor without ecological training can slash a paddock carrying declared weeds, spreading seed across the property in the process. Or clear a section of vegetation that was providing critical habitat. Or slash a riparian zone at the wrong time and damage regenerating native vegetation.
Cambium brings genuine ecological training to every job. We identify what's growing before we cut it. We understand the difference between useful pasture species and invasive competitors. We know when and where to leave vegetation for wildlife. Slashing done with that awareness produces better long-term outcomes for the land.
What affects the cost of acreage slashing in SEQ
Every property is different. We quote after a site consultation because the factors below can shift costs significantly from one property to the next.
A single open paddock is the simplest scope. Properties with multiple zones requiring different equipment and approach take more time and planning to program correctly.
A property managed regularly is maintained on each visit. An overgrown property requires a reset that takes significantly more time. First visits are typically higher than ongoing program visits.
Slopes, wet areas, creek banks and limited gate access affect which machines we can deploy and how long each section takes. Flat, accessible paddocks are the most efficient to slash.
Properties on regular monthly or quarterly programs are more cost-effective per visit than one-off or irregular requests. Consistent programs keep vegetation manageable rather than requiring resets.
Combining paddock slashing with formal lawn mowing, garden maintenance and weed management under one program is more efficient and better value than separate contractors for each element.
Properties within 30 minutes of our Rocklea depot are most cost-effective. Properties in the Scenic Rim, Lockyer Valley and outer SEQ are serviced with a small mobilisation component factored into the quote.
Most acreage slashing programs start from $350 per visit for single-zone properties. Multi-zone and complex rural holdings are quoted after a site consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I slash my paddocks?
Most SEQ paddocks benefit from slashing every four to eight weeks through the wet season growth period. The right interval depends on your pasture species, stocking rate and whether you're managing for weed control, fire risk, livestock health or presentation. We discuss this during the site consultation and build your program around what actually suits your property.
Can you handle properties that haven't been maintained for years?
Yes. Heavily overgrown properties require a staged reset rather than a single visit. We assess the full scope during the site consultation, design a systematic reset program and work through the property in a logical sequence. Once the reset is complete we establish an ongoing maintenance program to keep it in good condition.
What's the difference between slashing and mowing?
Slashing refers to cutting tall, dense or woody vegetation using heavy-duty machinery at a rougher finish. Mowing refers to precision cutting of established lawns and turf areas to a finer, consistent height. Most acreage properties need both: slashing for paddocks and rough areas, mowing for lawns and formal grounds. We manage both with appropriate equipment for each zone.
Do you work on properties where the owner isn't present?
Yes. Many of our clients don't live on the properties we manage or can't always be present on the day. We work independently once the program is established, send before and after photos after every visit, and communicate anything outside the normal scope as it comes up. You stay in the loop without needing to be there.
Do you notice and report on weed problems when you're on the property?
Yes, and this is one of the genuine advantages of having an ecologically trained contractor. We identify invasive species as we work across the property and flag any emerging weed problems, vegetation changes or access issues in our post-visit communication. On some properties this has caught developing weed infestations early enough to address them at a fraction of the cost of a large-scale management program.
Are you insured?
Yes. Cambium Land Management holds current public liability insurance. We are happy to provide a certificate of currency on request.
